So this last friday was the long awaited match day.
The day we've been waiting for, for only the last 4 years of our lives!
FINALLY we'd know where we'd be living the next several years, where we'd be raising our kids, where the next step in this crazy adventure would take us!
The verdict is in...........
Breton matched at UCONN in dermatology!!!!!
We are SO stoked about it and could not be happier!!
It was certainly unexpected, not only did we not expect UCONN (University of Connecticut, our #1 choice) but we were also not expecting to be able to match in derm. And to top it off, we're gonna be able to stay here in Salt Lake during his intern year while he completes that at IMC. So we'll get to stay here for another year til summer of '13, then we'll be off to Farmington Connecticut for the next 3 years.
EKKKK!!!
Its gonna be quite the change, living out of state, on the east coast, about as far away from Utah as you can get but we are up for the challenge and really excited for a new and undoubtedly amazing experience for our family.
And let me just add I am SO proud of Breton.
He has kicked butt in all his rotations and classes and worked so dang hard.
It takes a lot of balance to be able to be a dedicated student and be an amazing dad and husband but he's pulled it off. And made it look easy.
We cannot wait for this next chapter in our lives!
YAY!! Way to go Breton!! That is a HUGE accomplishment - for the both of you - and I couldn't be more happy for you guys. Connecticut sounds awesome and you'll have great experiences out there.

ReplyDeleteLara, it was so great seeing you today! I just love you! Congrats to Breton! I bet match day is sooo exciting and now you can "plan" your lives a little better knowing where you will be. I am going to miss you like crazy when you leave but we need to make sure to get together as much as we can (when I come back to visit) before you move next summer.

And it's great that it's worked out that you'll get to stay in Salt Lake another year, too. It's going to be a great experience to live back on the East Coast. I'm really glad we went to PA school in NY. You are going to have a lot of fun and the adventure of your lives!
