Christmas festivities

 Finally getting around to posting about all our fun filled holiday festivities!...be prepared cause we've been pretty busy the last month:) 

My parents started the tradition a few years back of giving Christmas PJ's to all the grandkids the weekend after Thanksgiving...this was the one and only group shot I got. Nice eh? I couldn't not post this, sorry Caroline for only capturing part of your leg and not the rest of ya...

There's insane amounts of chaos when all the cousins get together, and tonight was a night of pure chaos

Setting up our tree!!

Our first outing to temple square for the season, we were lucky to catch it on a pretty warm night which made it a whole lot more enjoyable

this crazy girl ran around temple square as quickly as her legs would take her, I think she was happy to be outside with her cute cousins Aaliyah and Sahara to chase her

She did manage to find the ONLY piece of snow in the whole place, luckily we grabbed her before she inserted into her mouth

On another occasion to temple square this season, we met SANTA! Can you believe it?! Actually the true story is this is NOT the real Santa, but a fake Santa! During Breton's friends annual Christmas party, which was held at his friend's condo a block from the temple, his buddy Matt decided to spread some holiday cheer and go walk around the temple dressed as Santa. We were lucky enough to get a shot with him as he was in high demand.

And onto the newest tradition (started this year) of making gingerbread houses with my sisters and their families

I was quickly made aware of Breton's insane skill for making gingerbread houses, or maybe it was his perfectionism, or perhaps a combo of the both. There was no losing this one (and there was also no competition but he didn't need to know that)

He asked me the other day if we could store the gingerbread house with our other christmas decorations and display it every year. hah. I love this kid.

For the Henderson family party Santa came to visit! This was Addie's second meeting with Santa this year, the first was at Grandma Cari's work party and Santa didn't even phase her, she looked completely bored in that picture.  But she was not a huge fan of Santa this time around.

The Yates family celebrated by having an ugly sweater contest, and Breton won the prize, hands down. He sported a giant stocking.

Now onto the good stuff! Christmas eve Sorry game and prizes!

Addie was the only one still awake while we were all playing Sorry, and I caught her in the midst of a plan to take down the Christmas tree

 We ended up spending the night at Bret and Cari's on Christmas eve, since we'd be celebrating with them again in the morning. They have some pretty awesome traditions for Christmas Eve, and we love staying there and spending the night and have done it every year since we've been married.  This may be the last year as Addie will be expecting Santa to bring to her home lots of fun toys next year...

We headed over to Bruce and Deb's for a yummy breakfast and to open gifts there, then back to our home sweet home for our own presents

 Now onto the REAL good stuff!!

Addie's FIRST CAR! 

 She hopped right in as soon as she saw it and has pretty much lived in it ever since

 We were pretty darn excited to give her this gift (especially Breton) as we knew she would absolutely love it. She didn't even care to play with the other gifts we gave her, besides putting them all inside the car with her.

 We lucked out when we bought a tv stand at RC Willey a few days before Christmas and found out there were throwing in this mini car with each purchase. WOO! 

 Our last stop was to my Mom's to celebrate, eat great food and exchange kids gifts. Addie's super cute baby from Will.

And lastly Addie with our tree! We decorated halfway up this year for obvious reasons. The plug where the lights plugged into the wall became her favorite thing to play with, which almost made me regret putting up a tree altogether! Although the day we took it down she continuously yelled NO NO NO at Breton and I for an entire hour. So at least she enjoyed the tree.
